Q. What are the server requirements?
 A. SERVER: AMD/PENTIUM 1gighrtz or higher, 256meg ram, 200 megs space, IIS4, Win 2000 Server (with all latest updates), SQL Server.
 PERFORMER: AMD/PENTIUM 500hrtz or higher, 64meg ram, 30 meg space, Win XP/2000,and appropriate sound and video equipment.
 
Q. How is this better than webcam32 based or other free live cam "friends" systems?
 A. Performance is everything! So called "Webcam32" based systems performance rely on the performers upload bandwidth because viewers actually tunnel through the net to the performer's machine to get the video. If the performer is on a dial up modem connection (28.8k upload) and 3 viewers come into the machine to get the performer's video (3x56k) you can see that it slows the video to a crawl because the performers connection is saturated. The Firecracker Video server engine architecture is based on a central server model. This means that the upload from the performer is never touched.....the viewers watch the video on the server, not the performer's machine thus enabling a performer to handle hundreds of viewers.
 
Q. How much bandwidth do I need to run the software?
 A. Bandwidth requirements depend on a mixture of factors, such as concurrent viewers, concurrent performers, etc.... Theoretically you could start with a 128k feed, but we recommend you start with a point to point (not frame relay) T-1 (1.54 megs per second) so as your service grows you have available bandwidth.
 
Q. Can it be made to match my existing site/s look?
 A. Yes. The software comes with default skeleton .asp pages. We can make the site look any way you want. Using .asp pages allows you to pull all the features from the program and integrate them into your pages.
 
Q. What all is needed to put up a site like ManifestMuscle?
 A. You will need several things here is as short a list as we can provide:
  • Firecracker Software.
  • A Server (See below for specs) (Or rent a Dedicated server at your choice of hosting companies.).
  • Server needs to be running Microsoft Windows Server 2000.
  • Server also needs to be running Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
  • Both of the above programs need to have the latest updates.
  • High speed connection (Local T1,OC3, or Co-locate it at your choice of hosting companies.).
  • Then you need to have someone (us if you choose) design and customize it to your tastes/colors/billing setup, etc..
  • Once all the above is done, you need performers (either from a studio or recruited from the internet, we can help you with this as well).
  • Once you have performers on, then you need someone to market the site (we have several internet methods we can setup for you, more info upon request) and bring customers to your performers.
  • Then of course, you need someone to keep track of the performer's paper work and payments. We will provide you with template 2257 and model release forms, that we will customize for your website. You will need to arrange an office to keep the records on file and an accounting person for your payroll, etc...

*There is more to it, but this is the basics. We will provide you with assistance in learning how to administer the website and all workings included with our custom package!!

 A. You will need Windows 2000 or 2003 Server (with all latest updates)(5 client Lic.), and Windows SQL Server 2000 (5 client Lic.).
